This is not a brand new post but I am reposting from my Anchor podcast after 8 months for a reason. Take a look at how the market played out so far. The big bucks that @Jio, #jioplatforms, spent as well as #airtel, on 5G spectrum acquisition was for a reason. Now, 8 months on, deployments are well underway. Both #jio and #airtel are halfway across the country and as planned both will likely be pan-India 5G networks by Dec 2023. A pretty darn good speed of coverage for a massive country of this size. And they didn't bother too much about Private 5G since that piece was (and still is) under the regulatory radar. Adani did not bother too much and made his call on the parts he wanted.…

Straddled with staggering debt, some becoming due in a year, soaring operating losses amid subscriber exodus, @Vodafone Idea is a picture of the disaster it was trying not to become. It's now asking @Airtel to pick up 5% in its tower business at $450 mil roughly to get past the current crisis. Things are getting bleaker for Vodafone Idea as the Indian telecom market moves toward reduced competition, more stable pricing, and a predictable regulatory environment.  More:
